Vision

The Centre seeks to be recognised – locally, nationally, regionally and internationally – as a leader and as a centre of excellence in research and development in the field of lifelong learning and education.

Mission

The mission of the EdUHK, Centre for Lifelong Learning Research and Development, is to enhance – through research and development – the quality, impact and understanding of the contribution of Lifelong Learning and education to the society and economy.

It seeks to do that through:

Maintaining a strong and progressive programme of practical research and development projects in the field.

Focusing on areas of particular social and political need and importance.

Maintaining an effective local network of partnerships with key organisations in the field.

Providing mentoring and other research development facilitation for Centre members, Departmental associates, post-graduate students, employers, training providers and research partners.

Developing strong teams of researchers in each of the Centre’s core areas.

Maintaining a strong output of research publications.

Maintaining an active and contributing international network of research associates.

Providing knowledge transfer through seminars, workshops and other outreach programmes.
