Wai-yu is saddened by the issue of the funding cut. "The Early Childhood Education courses provided by HKIEd have been widely recognised for their quality and well-received by education profession. Among fellow educators that we come across, many think that it is regrettable that the government has exercised a funding cut without consultation, which they consider to be grossly unfair. Through the incident I learnt that as members of early childhood education we should not remain silent. Only by making our voices heard will we be recognised by the community. During the funding cut saga the ECESA successfully organised 200 students to participate in the sit-in action initiated by the The HKIEd Past Students' Association of Early Childhood Teacher Education. Notwithstanding that the funding cut is now a fact; I hope our views will not be ignored in the future." Wai-yu is confident about her future. Upon graduation she looks forward
to dedicating herself to the profession and becoming a role model of
her students. As one of its members, she wants to promote the work of
the education profession for the betterment of early childhood education. |
