HKIEd Joy of Learning No.2, 2005

「十年義務工作令我深深感受到教師工作對社會的重要。」


苑琪對未來的教學工作充滿期盼。深受良師關愛,她明白到教師必須全心全意,才能完成育人的任務。「我小學的時候成績不理想,又不喜歡做功課。幸好班主任並沒有放棄我,每天放學後指導我完成作業,跟我說故事,教我做人道理。她的耐心和關懷改變了我,留給我深刻的印象。從她身上,我明白到教學其實是育人的工作。」

社會服務的經驗促進了苑琪的溝通技巧和應變能力,但回憶起踏入教室的情景,苑琪仍然戰戰兢兢。「有一次,實習的班上一名同學欠交功課,我向他追收,他竟然用粗話辱罵我。我當時驚惶失色,不知所措;後來校長和老師紛紛開導,我才不至於恐懼教學。我明白教師要全面裝備,學院的課堂管理與溝通技巧等課題,每位準教師都必須學習。」

憑著一顆對不幸社群的真摯愛心,相信苑琪定必能在教學專業上發揮所長,造福莘莘學子。
