Our annual School Principals' Survey revealed that they are consistently satisfied with the performance of HKIEd graduates.

The Honourable Donald Tsang, GBM, Hong Kong's Chief Executive and Chancellor of the Institute, conferred Honorary Doctorate Degrees on both an eminent educator as well as a well-known youth worker at our 12th Graduation Ceremony.

At the "Asia-Pacific Educational Research Association International Conference", over 800 educators, researchers and policy makers, from 40 different countries and cities, explored the challenges and implications of globalisation on education.

Touched by HKIEd's call for hall bursary donations, Mr Fung Yee-wang, the first warden of a student hostel at HKU, helped raised donations for financially disadvantaged students at the Institute.

 


16/1/2007

Further enhancing the provision of a quality education for educators across Hong Kong, the Mainland and the region, the Institute launched its first Doctor of Education programme.

Our fun-filled one-day activity, the Fund-raising Bazaar and "Walk with IEd" Gala Banquet, raised $1.5 million in funds under the Matching Grant Scheme.

The annual Graduate Employment Survey showed that 99.3% of our 2006 graduates were employed or were pursuing further studies.

At our invitation, the world-renowned Buddhist leader from Vietnam, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and his Sangha arrived in Hong Kong on a spiritual mission. Amongst other activities, he led a Day of Mindfulness at our Tai Po Campus.

The Centre for Early Childhood Research and Development provides tailor-made professional development programmes for in-service teachers, helping to enhance their knowledge and skills in self-assessment and assessment of the children.

The first "Mainland Students Consultation Day", organised by the Centre for International Education, attracted enthusiastic response from both students and parents from major Chinese cities.

 


28/6/2007

Led by our Council Chairman, the Institute submitted its Development Blueprint to the Government, marking a major milestone in our quest for a university title.
