Wireless Network Connection for Staff and Students through VPN
Although most of the online services provided by the Institute are accessible from Internet, for some sensitive services, users could only access it within the campus or through Virtual Private Network. VPN is also applicable in the Institute's wireless network. Using VPN on wireless connection provides access to campus network and additionally it encrypts the data from the user all the way to the campus network. Any staff, students or guests could use VPN provided that they have a valid network account. We recommend users to use secured wireless network via WPA/WPA2.
Connection Procedures:
- First, connect to the wireless network with the Guests connection method (see Steps 1 to 4 in Wireless Network Connection for Guests and Visitors).
- Then connect to the VPN service. (Please refer to VPN Service setup procedures).
