HKIEd was awarded the "5 Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo” again by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service on 3 May in recognition of its enduring efforts in caring for the community, caring for the employees and caring for the environment. HKIEd has been honored as a Caring Organisation for seven years since 2005. With this status, the Institute can carry the "5 Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo" in its collaterals and activities until 30 April 2013.

 
This year, HKIEd was nominated by the Christian Family Service Centre, The Hong Kong Children and Youth Service and The Salvation Army.
