Big Ideas - Annual Exhibition of the Visual Arts Education and Community Development Project 2009-2010

The Exhibition will showcase remarkable effort made towards combining art, volunteering and educational activities for youth, elderly people and the community by the Institute’s Visual Arts teaching staff and students. Their initiatives in leading students to build up a positive life attitude and bring joy and laughter to the elderly have aroused social concern about the power of art.

Featuring the seven community-based art projects carried out in 2009-2010, the display will include design works for the old shops in Central and Sheung Wan, story behind the development of a multimedia and interactive guide for Hong Kong‘s art museums, outcomes of “Artistic Power” Volunteer Youth Scheme and “Install Your Life” art installation activities; also, a special exhibition of ceramic works by the elderly and more. These projects are funded by the Visual Arts Education and Community Development Project (VAECD), Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, HKIEd.
