About Hall

Welcoming Message

Welcome all of you to join our big family. I am Dr. Lee Kwai Sang, the warden of Northcote Hall. I teach in the Department of Chinese in daytime, my research interests are Classical Literature, Traditional Chinese Culture as well as Teaching Thinking in Chinese. Besides, I am also responsible for some administrative duties in the General Education Section.

As you may know, our Northcote Hall is continuing working hard to promote a residents-oriented multi-culture in hall.

We do believe that University Education is not only a kind of career training, but also a place for whole person development. Our students are required to acquire necessary knowledge on teaching professions, to enrich their range of experiences, and to build up their value standard during the whole University life. Under this circumstance, our Northcote Hall has developed various kinds of activities. We hope that residents with different backgrounds and characters could both enjoy their hall life. They should live together, learn together, and grow together!

In additions, our vision is to encourage residents to develop our own hall culture. We concern your need, your voice and your view. We have established different organizations to embolden residents in participating hall matters, for instances, the Tutorial Team, the Residents Representative Council, the Hostel Association and Floor Representative Team etc. Our Northcote Hall belongs to you, and you will be one of us to develop Northcote Hall.

I have also experienced a memorial hall life when I was studying in University. For me, the time in hall was flying. I do desire that everyone of you must treasure the moment in hall and should not waste your time. On the other hand, I hope that my team, including everyone working for Northcote Hall, can be one of the most important reminiscence in your memory, forever.
