Students with financial needs may apply for various financial assistances/ services from the Student Affairs Office.

Bursaries and Loans
Bursaries
Needy full-time local students may apply. Applicant’s family income assessment is required. There are four kinds of bursaries: general bursary, hall bursaries, language immersion bursaries and bursaries for disabled students. The value per bursary varied from about $5,000 to $6,500. Bursaries need not be repaid. The application period is normally in September / January.
Interest-free Loans
Needy full-time local students may apply. Repayment will commence after graduation. Three loans are available.
1. Sing Tao Foundation Students’ Loan Fund
Interest-free loans of around $10,000 each are offered to full-time local students. Priority will be given to final year students.
Emergency Fund / Emergency Loan
Students with financial hardship that is caused by sudden change of family or personal circumstances may approach Student Affairs Office for assistance. The amount of grant/ loan is decided on a case-by-case basis. Students may apply throughout the year.
Emergency Fund
It is provided by the Croucher Foundation and the Institute. No repayment is needed.
Emergency Loan
This interest-free loan is provided by the Hong Kong Rotary Club. Repayment will commence after graduation.
Student Travel Scheme
Students can submit applications for various travelling discount schemes to the Student Affairs Office for verification, e.g. MTR Student Travel Scheme.
