Prizes and awards are granted to students by the Institute based on a set of criteria, such as academic performance, block practice performance, leadership qualities, contribution to the Institute or the community and participation in extra-curricular activities. They include:

Academic Prizes
Prize recipients are nominated by the Institute based on academic performance and good professional attitude. For some prizes, there are additional criteria like field experience performance, contribution to community service, leadership qualities and participation in extra-curricular activities:

  • President's Award
  • The Dean's List
  • Honour List for Higher Degree
  • Award for Outstanding Academic Performance
  • Award for Outstanding Performance in Field Experience
  • Award for Best Performance in the Major Subject Sutdies
  • Award for Best Performance in Professional Studies

Awards for Non-academic Achievements/Contributions*

  • Award for Leadership and Special Contribution
    For outstanding leadership and special contribution to the Institute or the community
  • Quality Teacher Development Award Scheme - Platinum Award
    For students who are committed to continuous development to be all round prospective teachers
  • Award for Active Contribution
    For active contribution to the Institute and/or campus life or the community in an on-going manner

* The award recipients must also obtain and maintain a satisfactory academic result.

Award for Representing the Institute in External Activities
For students who have successfully been selected to represent the Institute in external activities. This award aims at supporting programme fees and expenses in external activities which involve competition across tertiary institutions in the selection process.
