REGISTRATION

Registration is now available online for the Third Pearl River Delta English Studies Graduate Student Conference (PRD) 15-17 June 2009. We strongly recommend you use the online registration system to register and to pay the registration fee by credit card as this is the most efficient and economic way for you. Before making the payment online, please kindly see to it that:

• First, your credit card is in the valid period by checking the “expire date” indicated on your card;
• Second, there is enough balance to cover the maximum credit limit;
• Third, you follow the instructions on the computer screen until you see the page informing you of the result;
• Fourth, in the process, you may be asked to input your credit card number and security code (depending the type of your credit cards, the code can be often found near the authorized signature on the back side of your card).

Hong Kong Institute of Education, the hosting institute, has made the online payment system secure. If you really find it hard to register online, here are two alternatives for you to pay the registration fee.

1. For local participants in Hong Kong
(1) Cheque
If you are Hong Kong residents, you are welcome to send us a cheque payable to ‘ The Hong Kong Institute of Education”. You may mail the cheque to the following address: Dr. Xuesong (Andy) Gao, Department of English, The Hong Kong Institute of Education, 10 Lo Ping Road, Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong. Please check if you have signed your cheque properly and put your name on the back of the cheque before sending it to us. You may send it together with the completed registration form.
(2) Bank Transfer
You may also do bank transfer at any local bank’s branch office or ATM (or online banking). The account number for The Hong Kong Institute of Education is 015-195-25-00002-0
Please do remember to fax your payment record to Dani Wang at 2948 7270 or email a scanned copy together with your registration form to hkprd@ied.edu.hk.

2. For non-local participants
(1) Telegraph Transfer
If you are not in Hong Kong, you may pay through telegraph transfer at your local bank. As local banks in Hong Kong charge 150 HKD to process Telegraphic transfer, please add 150 HKD on top of the 600 HKD conference registration fee (750 HKD in total). The table below is the bank information that you may need to know.

After you have made the transfer, please do remember to fax or email the transfer form in a PDF file together with your completed registration form to Dani Wang for confirmation. The fax number is +852 2948 7270 or email hkprd@ied.edu.hk .
(2) Bank Draft
You are also welcome to buy a bank draft payable to ‘The Hong Kong Institute of Education’ at your local bank and mail it to us together with your completed registration form. And please remember to make the currency type “Hong Kong Dollars”. Again, as Hong Kong banks charge processing fees (the amount varies according to the issue banks of bank drafts), please add 50 HKD on top of the 600 HKD conference registration fee (650 HKD in total).

If you happen to have some friends in Hong Kong, we suggest that you ask for help from your friends to settle the registration fee so as to reduce the cost. For whatever reason, if you are withdrawing from the conference, could you also kindly email us at hkprd@oed.edu.hk by 30 April 2009 (Thursday).
