2012-07-11

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the Life Education Programme launch ceremony on Wednesday (11 July). Organised by the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education (CRSE) at The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd), the programme will run from July 2012 until June 2013.

This is the second time that the CRSE has been commissioned by the Advisory Committee on Teacher Education and Qualifications (ACTEQ) and the School Leadership Development Section of the Education Bureau (EDB) to run the programme, officially known as the Project for Primary School Development of Life Education.

The programme provides support to principals and teachers of 20 local primary schools in developing school-based life education curricula. The programme comprises three stages, including six lessons for teachers’ professional training, a study visit to Taiwan and a school-based professional consultation and cluster seminar to investigate the methods and strategies for the development of life education.

Officiating at the launch ceremony will be Ms Chan Yin-ping, Cindy, Chief Professional Development Officer at the ACTEQ and the School Leadership Development Section of the EDB, together with Professor John C. K. Lee and Dr Wong Ping-ho, the Co-Programme Coordinators of the CRSE at the HKIEd. Mr Wong Hon-sum, Merit Prize recipient in the Outstanding Third Age Learner Awards 2012, will also deliver a speech.
