e-Learning with Blackboard
LTTC manages the Blackboard Learning Management System (Bb version 7 LMS)* which is the web-based teaching and learning platform of the Institute. The Centre's Bb support team works with colleagues to utilise various Blackboard features to successfully engage students and teachers in online learning. The Bb LMS is a web-based learning space for teachers to develop innovative pedagogies, and for students to enjoy peer learning through synchronous and asynchronous discussion forums. Students can also reflect on their learning with their peers and teachers in Blackboard groups set up within their modules. These e-Learning opportunities will enrich students' learning experiences and help develop alternative pedagogies in teacher education.

The institute-wide online learning environment is built on the Blackboard LMS version 7*. It is well recognized for its ease of use and scalability for web-based learning and teaching.
The centre's support team provides a range of services to staff and students including:

  • Blackboard Workshops for Student
  • Management of the Blackboard online learning environment
    • Creation of Blackboard online learning modules
    • Enrollment of students and tutors to Blackboard modules
    • Administration of Blackboard modules archives
    • Provision of Blackboard user support
  • Consultancy
    • Utilization of Blackboard features for online teaching and learning
    • Provision of one-on-one Blackboard tutorials
    • Development of online learning modules in the Blackboard environment
    • IT Development Grant projects and other projects related to online learning and teaching
