從踏入教院校門的一刻起，譚美寶已訂立成為專業教師的清晰路向：「在報名參加優秀教師培育計劃時，我已定下奪取白金獎項的目標，一方面要好好充實自己，另一方面要全力以赴，爭取最佳成績。」

在芸芸活動中，美寶特別珍惜到外地交流的經驗，參加「第五屆海外傑青匯中華活動」更令她畢生難忘。「作為學生，我們難得有機會在北京人民大會堂跟全國政協主席賈慶林先生會面，聽他講話，加深了我們對國家開放發展的認識。」
