Software Site Licenses covered by ITS (as on 1/7/2008)

For some common software ITS will negotiate with computer software vendors for site licenses. Please note that the list will be revised annually subjected to the renewal of the site licenses.
  • Microsoft Campus Agreement is a site license that allows all PCs in the Institute to use all Microsoft's Windows operating system, Office Professional (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access), Visio, Project, Publisher, Visual Studio and Windows Server Core CAL and SQL CAL licenses. The campus agreement also allows HKIEd staff to use the software at home.
    • Windows Server 2003 / 2000 / BackOffice Server Licenses are NOT included in this site license. Departments setting up Microsoft Servers should acquire the MOLP server licenses for their Windows Server 2003 / 2000 / BackOffice Servers.
    • The Windows OS License requires you have an old Windows OS License. Departments acquiring PCs should include valid Windows OS licenses.
