One behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the II International Conference for Physical Educators (ICPE 2004) to be held in Hong Kong, China on 7-10 July 2004.

Over 650 international and local participants from 15 countries and the Asia-Pacific region attended the First International Conference for Physical Educators (ICPE 2000) from 7-8 July 2000, and represented 270 institutions, government departments and schools. A record breaking of 248 scholars and teachers from 119 institutions and schools from 23 Chinese provinces came to support us. The Organizing Committee is expecting even more participants this time at ICPE 2004. Mr. Yang Guiren, Director General, Department of Physical Education, Health and Art Education, Ministry of Education, P.R. China has kindly agreed again to bring a large delegation from various provinces to support this Conference. The endorsement by the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education (AIESEP), Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS) and Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) will make ICPE 2004 a truly global event.

One of the unique features of ICPE 2004 is a special program for students. Through a poster and educational information session, international students will have an opportunity to interact and share their experiences. Various symposiums are added for the participants to have an opportunity to share views on specialized areas. We hope ICPE 2004 will provide a platform for future co-operation in physical education and exercise science between higher institutions in Asia and other parts of the world in this coming Olympic year.
