(This article is a study of the "Christianized village" phenomenon in China. It examines two lineages of identical historical and cultural origins. Despite their common ethnical background, the cultural difference between these two lineages has resulted in their entirely different response to Christianity. )

TSE, H. S. (1997) "The Resurgence of civil society in China: a study on migrant worker¡¥s settlement in Guangzhou" in Chinese Social Quarterly No. 18-19 Spring-Summer 1997(H.K.). (This article reports that a  great majority of migrant worker gave up their land and became converts to a ¡§city deity due to the effect of hierarchical structure of human relations, and the limitation of the roles of migrant worker in China society.)
