Before joining the Institute, Chan Ka-yin served as school teacher, senior teacher, English panel chairperson and PSM (CD) in primary schools, and lecturer teaching Phonetics and Phonology, Sociolinguistics and Second Language Acquisition in Hong Kong Baptist University .
