Self Recommendation Scheme

Introduction
The Institute places great emphasis on the non-academic achievements of candidates in addition to their academic results. The Self Recommendation Scheme aims to enable students who excel in areas such as art, sports, music, creative writing, community services, personal achievements, etc. to gain admission to our full-time undergraduate programmes. Candidates with outstanding non-academic achievements will be granted extra merits in the selection process.

There are 16 full-time undergraduate programmes offered by the Institute in the 2012 entry, namely

Eligibility
If you have outstanding achievements in any one or more of the following areas and have chosen our full-time undergraduate programme(s) as your Band A choice(s), you are invited to apply for the scheme through JUPAS:

Sub-system for School Principal's Nominations

This Sub-system is to give due recognition to students who have contributed to social services or made outstanding achievements in non-academic areas or who have demonstrated leadership abilities. For details, please refer to the latest JUPAS Guide or visit the JUPAS website on www.jupas.edu.hk.

BA in Creative Arts and Culture / BEd Programmes
If you are nominated by your school Principal, you will be interviewed given that:
a) you have put our programme(s) as your JUPAS Band A choice(s); and
b) you have fulfilled the programme entrance requirements and our selection criteria.

If you obtain satisfactory results in the admission interview, you will be given a conditional offer before the announcement of the 2012 HKALE results. The final decision on admission will be subject to your HKALE results and announced at the JUPAS Main Round exercise.

BA in Language Studies / BSocSc(GES) Programmes
Normally, no admission interview is required for BA in Language Studies / BSocSc(GES) applicants. Successful candidates will be given a conditional offer before the announcement of the 2012 HKALE results. The final decision on admission will be subject to your HKALE results and announced at the JUPAS Main Round exercise.
