Module Code 單元編號 SED6013 Module Title 單元名稱 PHONETICS AND PHONOLOGY FOR EDUCATION Module Synopsis 單元概要 The phonetics aspect of the course is to provide students with knowledge about speech sounds and the ability to use this knowledge in an applied setting. This includes the ability to transcribe speech sounds in both normal and atypical speech in Cantonese and the understanding of the fundamentals of the mechanisms involved in speech production and perception. The phonology aspect of this course focuses on the phonological issues in Cantonese including its the basic phonemic inventory, phonotactic and syllable structure constraints, phonological processes and the tonal phenomena exhibited in the language.
