ISSUES IN DEVELOPMENT IN SCHOOL CONTEXTS
Module Synopsis
單元概要
This course provides students with the opportunity to study critical issues in child and adolescent development in school contexts. Drawing upon relevant psychological theories and empirical studies covered in Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence, students will be given the opportunity to identify and study local and global specific issues in development. The issues contain school readiness, family relationships, schooling, peer relationships, socialization, gender identity and adolescent sexuality, school alienation, and children or adolescents at-risk. A problem-based learning approach is adopted in this course. Students are required to propose appropriate interventions after in-depth analyses of the issues. As this course encourages students to study critical issues related to their specific interests, the content listed below is suggestive of possible areas of investigation.
