Module Code 單元編號 LIN3016 Module Title 單元名稱 CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGES AND TRANSLATION Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course aims to introduce students to the disciplines of Contrastive Linguistics and Translation Studies. Selected topics in contrastive linguistics between English and Chinese will be analyzed, with special emphasis on syntax, semantics, textual analysis and contextual analysis. The course will develop students’ ability to use a contrastive approach to systemically analyze both languages in order to overcome practical linguistic problems in translation.
