It promotes students’ understanding and appreciation of the nature of school guidance and counselling, and its importance to the whole person development of all children. It equips course students with the necessary knowledge and skills in guidance and counselling to provide pastoral care to all children using a comprehensive developmental guidance approach, particularly through the role of a class teacher in the local school context. It helps students to perform their guidance roles in collaboration with fellow school personnel, parents and the community within a whole school approach.
