HKIEd Says Goodbye to All Exchange Students. We will Miss YOU!
This afternoon, Prof. Lee Wing On, Dr. Peter Bodycott, students and staff of IO gathered at Tin Ka Ping lecture theatre to say goodbye to all 45 exchange students.
This group of exchange students, coming from Mainland China, Sweden and Australia has been with us for the past semester and has in their own individual way enriched the HKIEd community. They have played an important role in internationalizing our campus and have been outstanding ambassadors for their families, their university, their country and culture. They came to Hong Kong with great enthusiasm and interest in Hong Kong education and culture, and will all go home with a better understanding of Hong Kong culture, a broader international perspective, as well as fond memories of their friends and moments in HKIEd.
Prof. Lee shared his own experience as a foreign student and presented souvenirs and certificates to each student. A highlight of the function was the presentation of an original art work to Prof Lee on behalf of all students by Chen Si Yi Zoe from the Fudan University. Zoe explained that her painting represents her dreams, the rewards she gained and her fulfilling life at HKIEd. Zoe said: “The picture signifies the magic of my exchange experience at HKIEd. It has enriched my life and helped me realize my dreams. I will uphold this precious experience for my whole life!”
We will miss this group of very special students and wish them well in their future studies, travels and employment! At the same time, next semester will see us welcome 21 new exchange students from the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, Sweden, France and Mainland China.
