Dr. Lucy Green is the author of Music on Deaf Ears: Musical Meaning, Ideology and Education (1988), Music, Gender, Education (1997), and How Popular Musicians Learn: A Way Ahead For Music Education (2001).
She has written several influential articles and book chapters on music education and the sociology of music, and has also given Keynote lectures at conferences and universities in many countries. Currently she is Reader of Music Education at the London University Institute of Education, supervising about 10 research students, and is Course Leader for the MA in Music Education. She sits on the Editorial Boards of Music Education Research and Popular Music.
