The University of Melbourne Master of Educational Management in Hong Kong

As a strategic initiative to develop partnership with prestigious overseas institutions and to conduct joint programmes, in particular, higher degree programmes, the Institute has been discussing with the University of Melbourne on offering the "Master of ducational Management" programme. A collaboration agreement was signed in March 2001 and the Master programme is scheduled to be offered on a part-time basis from August 2001.

The University of Melbourne Master of Educational Management is offered in association with the Institute. The programme is tailor-made for practicing professionals in a senior position in a school, tertiary institution or educational setting who wish to build on their professional experience, develop their skills and open up new career opportunities by gaining formal qualifications in educational management. Participants are expected to complete eight subjects over a period of two years.

The course will be conducted at the Institute's Tai Po campus. Taught in English by the University of Melbourne staff, the programme also benefits from a local perspective with the involvement of some of the Institute's academic staff.

To enable potential participants to get first-hand information on the programme, the University of Melbourne held an Information Evening in Hong Kong on 15 May 2001. The session was well received by participants who demonstrated keen interest in joining the programme.

Interested staff can find out more details on the programme by visiting the University of Melbourne's website at http://www.edfac.unimelb.edu.au or the CRIC website at http://www.ied.edu.hk/cric/. Copies of the programme brochure and application form can also be obtained from the Centre. The application deadline for the programme is 29 June 2001.
