Education Forum sponsored by the Centre
In order to meet the challenges of educational development in Hong Kong in the new millennium, the Centre sponsored an education forum organised by the Hong Kong Primary Education Research Association on 26 October 1999. The forum provided an academic and professional venue for participants to discuss the far-reaching impacts and implications of the recent educational reforms. The speakers were Professor Cheng Yin Cheong, Head of the Centre, Professor Chung Yue Ping, Dean of Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Mr Cheung Kwok Wah, Associate Dean of Education of the University of Hong Kong.
The speakers had very fruitful discussions with the participants, including members of the Association, school principals, teachers of primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, community leaders, parents and students. Constructive and insightful views and suggestions were exchanged at the forum.
